Hotel Review: Andronis Minois, Paros, Quiet Luxury on the Calm Side of the Cyclades

Max Zaharenkov by the pool at Andronis Minois, Paros

Santorini regulars know the Andronis name, their Oia properties practically invented the caldera-view aesthetic. So when I planned my August week through Paros and Milos, their Paros outpost, Andronis Minois, was the stay I was most curious about: could the Santorini polish survive the move to a quieter island?

The Setting

Minois sits above Parasporos, a few minutes south of Parikia, on the west coast, which in Greece is code for one thing: sunsets. The whole property faces the evening light. Where Santorini gives you drama with a thousand spectators, Parasporos gives you the same golden hour with almost nobody in frame. For a filmmaker, that trade wins every time.

The Stay

The design is Cycladic minimalism done with restraint, white volumes, raw stone, wood, nothing shouting. My suite opened straight onto the water view, and the mornings set the rhythm: swim, breakfast long past any reasonable hour, then out to shoot while the light was still soft. Service ran the way I wish more islands did, present exactly when needed, invisible otherwise. After two islands in a week, that calm was the luxury.

What It Does Best

Three things stood out. The pool scene at dusk, when the west light turns everything amber and the whole terrace goes quiet. The food, Greek produce treated simply and seriously, the kind of kitchen that trusts a tomato. And the location’s secret weapon: you’re ten minutes from Parikia’s ferries and tavernas, but the property feels a world removed.

Verdict

Paros is where the Cyclades go to exhale, and Andronis Minois is the sharpest expression of that I’ve found on the island. If Naoussa’s buzz is your holiday, stay east. If your ideal evening is a west-facing pool, a slow dinner and a sky doing its best work, this is the one. I came to compare it with Santorini. I left having stopped comparing.
